The Local Scope

The Local Scope began with a simple question: why do so many good local stories go unnoticed?

Across North Northamptonshire, people are baking, making, fixing, teaching and organising – running small businesses from kitchen tables and workshops, putting on fairs, gigs and open days. Much of it never reaches a newspaper or a search result.

The Local Scope is where it can be found. Read local Stories, see What’s On this week, find people and businesses near you in the Directory, and plan a day out with Things to Do.

We have a soft spot for the small ones: sole traders, freelancers, makers, market stalls and new businesses finding their feet. That is why a basic listing in our directory is free for every local business, and adding a local event is free too.

The Local Scope was founded by Kordian Pach and is built together with his two daughters, who grew up in Northamptonshire. We live and work here, and we have seen how much energy, skill and kindness there is in our towns and villages. We want more people to see it too.

Everything we publish is checked by our team, and paid promotion is always clearly labelled.

Supporting the editorial team by gathering local stories, sourcing community updates and assisting with content collection. Helping identify newsworthy topics and contributing to the development of engaging local coverage.

Community Outreach Volunteer

Supporting community engagement initiatives by connecting with local residents, promoting the magazine and assisting with outreach activities. Helping strengthen relationships within the community and encourage public participation in local storytelling.

Office Administrator

Responsible for managing correspondence, handling incoming enquiries and ensuring efficient day-to-day administrative support. Maintaining organised communication processes and supporting the team with general office coordination tasks.
