To keep the scheme fair and focused on the businesses it was created to support, The Local Scope may review business size, structure and eligibility before approving or renewing a free listing. Each application is considered individually and with the local context in mind.

This option is ideal for established businesses, larger local brands or organisations that want a dedicated editorial feature focused on their story, people and work.
We agree the scope and publication date before work begins.
Buy a sponsored article with STRIPEThere are two banner spaces on the homepage: a wide banner between the latest stories and a square banner in the sidebar. Each space shows one advertiser per calendar month, so there are at most 24 banner months a year. Months are allocated in the order bookings are confirmed, and Founding Sponsors’ banner months come from the same spaces. We tell you your month and space before you pay.
You supply the artwork (we send the sizes when you book) and the link. Banners are labelled Ad. A banner does not guarantee a number of views, clicks or customers, and nothing renews automatically.
You don’t need a business to support The Local Scope. A voluntary one-off contribution, for example £3, £5 or £10, helps us keep the guide free. It does not buy advertising, a listing or editorial influence, and we thank you by name only if you want us to. It is support for an independent project, not a charitable donation, so Gift Aid does not apply.
