What you can do

The Stahl Theatre is a professional theatre venue connected to Oundle School and located in the centre of Oundle. It is housed in a converted former chapel and has a main auditorium with around 264 seats, as well as additional studio and rehearsal spaces.

The theatre is used both by Oundle School pupils and by professional touring companies. Its programme includes school productions, drama performances and visiting professional shows, making it an important cultural venue for both the school and the wider local community.

In terms of accessibility, the theatre provides step-free access to both the foyer and the auditorium. It can accommodate two wheelchair users in the auditorium, although visitors requiring wheelchair access are asked to contact the Box Office in advance. A hearing loop is also available in the theatre.

Compared with some larger venues, the accessibility information published online is relatively limited. However, the theatre does clearly provide wheelchair access and hearing assistance, and staff encourage visitors with specific access requirements to contact the Box Office before attending so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Our beautiful theatre is a converted church originally built in 1865 before opening its doors as a theatre in 1980. Due to its age, we are limited with access points, but we have step-free access to the foyer and auditorium through the fire exit by the side of the building.

We currently have provision for 2 wheelchairs in our auditorium by removing seats A1 and A2 or A17 and A18. If you require wheelchair access, please contact the Box Office at dfitzsimmons@oundleschool.org.uk or by calling 01832 277300.
